Summary:

Responsible for the management of personnel and coordination of processing functions/activities within the departments of the Dark Meat Area; Rehang, Cut-Up, Whole Leg , Thigh DeBone, Box Room. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the management of Supervisors and hourly associates including contingent labor
  • Monitor production of product so to ensure end product meets and exceeds company and customer quality standards. 
  • Analyze quality problems and propose remedies while operating within budget
  • Plan daily production run schedule to ensure efficient operation of machines/equipment
  • Monitor hourly associate absenteeism and minimize turnover in the departments
  • Effectively communicate plans, process modifications and company vision and mission
  • Recognize and reward employees while managing conflict through coaching and/or performance management in conjunction with Human Resources
  • Actively participate in the hiring, training and development of supervisors and hourly employee
  • Ensure hourly population and supervisor's comply with company policies, procedures and regulations
  • Maintain required records, monitor quality of incoming/outgoing product within the department
  • Communicate deficiencies, conduct audits of required documents and check for accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, food safety and safety standards are being followed

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred and/or related years of experience in lieu of educational preference.
  • Requires a minimum of three years of demonstrated, progressive poultry processing management experience and proven leadership skills.
  • Proficient with numbers to manage yield calculations, good excel skills.
  • Strong people skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, basic computer skills.
